Black Sea Jazz Festival (Batumi)
Batumi's summer jazz festival, which has brought international jazz, soul and funk names to the coast since 2007.
BatumiPhoto: Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa/U.S. 6th Fleet, Public domainThe Black Sea Jazz Festival began in 2007 and has grown into the main event of Batumi's summer. Past editions have run up to ten days; the 2026 edition, the 19th, ran over three evenings and was dedicated to the centenary of Miles Davis.
Evening concerts suit a beach holiday: swim by day, then walk the boulevard to the venue. Hotels in Batumi are at their busiest in July, so book early.
- Check the venue each year; it has moved around the city.
- Book Batumi hotels well ahead for festival week.
- Evenings are humid; light clothes and mosquito repellent help.
