How renting with us works

Tell us what and when

Choose a vehicle type, dates and pick-up place in the form, or simply write to us on WhatsApp.

Compare two or three offers

We send real cars with photos, the total price, deposit and insurance terms, usually the same day.

Confirm and drive away

The car meets you at the airport or your hotel. Walk round it, sign the contract and start your trip.

Every offer includes

Unlimited mileage

Most cars we offer have no daily kilometre cap, which matters on long Georgian loops.

Insurance in the price

Third-party liability and collision cover with an excess come with every car. Full cover is an option.

Airport or hotel hand-over

Collect the car in arrivals at Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi, or have it brought to your hotel.

The full price up front

Each offer shows the total, the deposit and the excess before you confirm. Nothing new appears at the desk.

Help on the road

One WhatsApp number in English for a flat tyre, a breakdown or a question at a police check.

Driver if you want one

Any car, minivan or 4x4 can come with a local driver for a day, a mountain stretch or the whole trip.

Insurance and extras

Every car comes with basic cover. Here is what you can add, with typical prices.

Standard

Included

Third-party liability plus collision cover with an excess, typically $300 to $1,000. If the car is damaged, you pay up to that amount.

Full cover

+$8–15 a day

Zero or very low excess, often with a smaller deposit. Read the exclusions: tyres, glass, the underbody and off-road damage are sometimes left out.

Your travel insurance

Required

Georgia requires foreign visitors to hold travel health insurance from 2026. It covers you, not the rental car, so keep both.

From 21 with most local firms, from 23 to 25 with international brands. Young drivers may pay a surcharge or a higher deposit.

Held for at least one to two years. Licences in Latin letters are usually accepted; for other scripts bring an International Driving Permit too.

Passport and the original driving licence of every person who will drive.

Deposit

About $0 to $300 with local firms, $500 to $1,500 with international brands, returned when you hand the car back.

Renting a car in Georgia

Renting a vehicle in Georgia is straightforward for most visitors. Local firms and the international brands at Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi airports cover everything from city cars to seven-seat off-roaders, and many of them deliver to your hotel. Main roads between towns are paved and signposted in English as well as Georgian, so a confident driver can see Kakheti, Kazbegi, Borjomi and Vardzia at their own pace.

The mountains are where the choice of vehicle matters. A small car handles paved routes in summer, but rough tracks into Tusheti, Khevsureti and the upper valleys need a real 4x4, and many firms exclude some of those roads in the contract. Send us your route and we match the vehicle, the insurance and the season to it, or arrange a local driver for the stretches where driving yourself makes little sense.

Car rental in Georgia: FAQ

Can I rent a car in Georgia with my home driving licence?

Usually yes. Most firms accept a licence printed in Latin letters for short visits. If your licence uses another script, or the company asks for it, bring an International Driving Permit together with the original.

How old do I have to be to rent a car in Georgia?

Local companies typically rent to drivers from 21 with two years of driving experience; international brands often set the limit at 23 or 25. Younger drivers can sometimes get a small car with a higher deposit.

Do I need a 4x4 to travel around Georgia?

Only for unpaved mountain tracks or winter driving in the high country. For Kazbegi, Mestia, Kakheti, Borjomi and the coast in summer, a normal car or a crossover is enough and costs less.

Can I pick up the car in Tbilisi and return it in Batumi?

Yes. One-way rentals between Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi are common, with a fee that depends on the firm and the distance. We show it in the offer.

Is there a security deposit?

Almost always. Local firms ask for roughly $0 to $300, international brands block $500 or more on a credit card. Some offers drop the deposit when you take full insurance.

Can I take a rental car to Armenia?

Many companies allow it with written permission, extra papers and a cross-border fee. Tell us before booking so everything is ready when you collect the car.

Who pays speeding and parking fines?

Cameras are common and fines are linked to the car. The rental firm pays them and charges you afterwards, sometimes with a handling fee.

Why book a rental through Maspindzeli?

We know which firms keep their cars in good order and answer the phone. You get one English-speaking contact for the car, your hotels and any tours, and we can switch you to a driver for the difficult roads.
