Kinchkha Waterfall

Its main cascade drops about 70 m from a limestone cliff into a green, forested amphitheatre, with smaller steps of about 25 m and 20 m above and below. The falls are at their fullest in spring and after rain, when the river is high, and they can thin noticeably by late summer. A second waterfall, Lomina, is reached by a marked trail in the same area.
A trail with steps leads from the road down to viewpoints facing the falls, and the spray and greenery make it a cool stop on a hot day. Facilities are basic compared with Okatse Canyon, so bring water and wear shoes with grip. Kinchkha is about 15 minutes by car beyond the Okatse visitor centre in Gordi, and most visitors see both in a half-day trip from Kutaisi.

How to visit
Getting there
About 50 km north-west of Kutaisi, around 1 hour 15 minutes by car via Khoni and Gordi, and about 15 minutes beyond the Okatse Canyon visitor centre. There is no public transport.
When to go
April–June, when the flow is strongest. Plan 1 hour here.
