Grigoleti weather is warm, bright and slightly drier than anywhere else on the Guria coast, a good match for its long, quiet dark-sand beach between the Black Sea and Paliastomi lake. Best time to visit Grigoleti
The best time to visit Grigoleti for a beach holiday runs from July into mid-September: warm water of 25-27 °C, and clear skies more often than on the Adjara coast. Late June and September give warm water with fewer people. For boat trips on Paliastomi lake and birdwatching, aim for May or late September to October, when highs of 22-27 °C feel gentler and mosquitoes are usually fewer.
Grigoleti sits on a narrow strip between the sea and Paliastomi lake, part of the Kolkheti wetlands. On still summer evenings the air over the water stays warm and damp, and mosquitoes rise from the reeds. That is the one real drawback of the weather in Grigoleti in July and August. Use repellent after sunset, choose a room with screens, and leave lake trips for calm mornings.
