- In July 2026, in peak season, the official list counted 164 direct routes to Georgia (the country), flown by 56 airlines from 86 cities in 39 countries to Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
- From the UK only London has direct flights: British Airways from Heathrow and easyJet from Luton, both to Tbilisi, 6 a week in July and both on sale for January 2027.
- Poland, Germany, Greece and Italy have the most flights in the EU. Lufthansa, LOT and Georgian Airways fly to Tbilisi, and Wizz Air links 24 European cities with Kutaisi in summer and 21 in winter.
- There are no non-stop flights from Ireland, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, North America, India or Australia, so plan one change, usually in Istanbul, Warsaw, Munich or a Gulf city.
- Winter timetables start on 25 October 2026. Zurich, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lyon, Wroclaw and most European and Gulf flights to Batumi stop or are not on sale, so check your route before you book.
Direct flights to Georgia (the country) leave from 86 cities across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In July 2026, at the height of summer, the official list held 164 non-stop routes on 56 airlines into Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. From the UK, only London has them. Germany, Poland and Italy each have several cities, and Wizz Air links much of the EU with Kutaisi. Nothing flies non-stop from Ireland, North America or India.
This guide goes country by country. It uses the July 2026 route list from Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency, as published by the tourism administration (GNTA). For each city you get the airline, the airport you land at and roughly how many flights run each week. July is the peak, so winter brings fewer flights. In October 2026 we checked the airport and airline timetables for winter and marked the routes that pause. For airports, flight times and fares, see our flights to Tbilisi guide.
Direct flights to Georgia in 2026: the big picture
The official list for July 2026 has 164 routes. Tbilisi has 86 of them, Batumi 46 and Kutaisi 32. Together they run about 820 times a week. The numbers come from the Civil Aviation Agency and show peak summer, when most airlines add flights.
Three airports take flights from abroad, and each has its own role:
- Tbilisi (TBS) is the main gateway, used by about 50 airlines in July 2026. It lies ~17 km from the city centre; our Tbilisi airport guide covers arrival.
- Kutaisi (KUT) is the low-cost base in the west, ~245 km from the capital. Wizz Air flies most of its routes, and our Kutaisi airport guide explains the way on.
- Batumi (BUS) sits on the Black Sea near the Turkish border. It is busiest in summer, when beach flights from Israel, Turkey, Russia and Central Asia arrive.
| Region | Cities with direct flights | Flights a week, July 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| EU, UK and Switzerland | 34 cities, from London to Larnaca | about 160 |
| Turkey | Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum | about 115 |
| Gulf states | Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Kuwait, Bahrain | about 90 |
| Israel | Tel Aviv | 76 |
| Central Asia | Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, Shymkent, Tashkent, Dushanbe | about 70 |
| Azerbaijan and Armenia | Baku, Yerevan | 60 |
| China | Urumqi, Beijing (via Urumqi), Shanghai | 14 |
| Other Europe and Middle East | Belgrade, Chisinau, Amman, Tehran, Erbil, Baghdad, Sharm El Sheikh | about 30 |
| Russia and Belarus | Moscow, St Petersburg and 17 more | about 200 |
Travellers from the EU and the UK have a wide choice. Those countries had about 160 flights a week in July 2026, from 34 cities. Poland and Germany sent the most, with Greece, Italy, France and Cyprus close behind.
Direct flights from the UK and Ireland: London to Tbilisi only
London is the only British city with non-stop flights to Georgia. Both routes go to Tbilisi, and both started in 2025.
| From | Airline | Lands at | Flights a week, July 2026 | Winter 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| London Heathrow | British Airways | Tbilisi | 4 | Yes, on sale for January 2027 |
| London Luton | easyJet | Tbilisi | 2 | Yes, on sale for January 2027 |
The flight takes about 5 hours. Kutaisi and Batumi have no UK routes in 2026, so Wizz Air's low fares need a change on the way.
From Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh or Dublin you need one change. Istanbul is the usual hub, with onward flights to Tbilisi many times a day. Warsaw, Munich and Vienna work too, and so does a Gulf hub if you fly from a smaller airport. Ireland has no direct flight at all.
Direct flights from Germany, Austria and Switzerland
Germany had seven cities with direct flights in July 2026, more than any other EU country. Lufthansa from Munich is the only German route that runs almost daily. Wizz Air serves Kutaisi from five German airports, and two of them sit far from the city on the ticket.
| From | Airline | Lands at | Flights a week, July 2026 | Winter 2026/27 |

| Geneva | easyJet | Tbilisi | 2 | Yes |
Frankfurt's main airport has no direct flight in 2026. Condor, which last flew the route in 2023, plans to return on 2 May 2027. It starts with four flights a week and goes daily from late May. Treat it as a plan until you can book it.
In the winter timetable, Lufthansa's Munich flight leaves late in the evening and lands in Tbilisi at about 5 am. That suits a first day that starts at sunrise, as long as your room is booked from the night before.
Austria and Switzerland
Vienna has two airlines and five flights a week. Switzerland got both its routes in 2025: Edelweiss from Zurich and easyJet from Geneva. In October we found Geneva flights on sale for January and February 2027. We found none from Zurich for November or December, so plan on summer only.
Poland, Central Europe, the Baltics and Scandinavia
Poland
Poland had 25 flights a week to Georgia in July 2026, the most of any EU country. LOT flies from Warsaw Chopin to Tbilisi about once a day. Wizz Air adds Warsaw, Katowice, Poznan and Wroclaw, all to Kutaisi. In winter LOT's flights land in Tbilisi before dawn.
| From | Airline | Lands at | Flights a week, July 2026 | Winter 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warsaw Chopin | LOT | Tbilisi | 8 | Yes |
| Warsaw | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 7 | Yes |
| Katowice | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 5 | Yes |
| Poznan | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 3 | Yes |
| Wroclaw | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 2 | No, summer only |

| Chisinau | FlyOne | Tbilisi and Batumi | 6 and 4 | Tbilisi verify; Batumi yes |
Bratislava is the newest of these. Wizz Air opened it on 12 January 2026, and it kept flying in November. Air Serbia started Belgrade in 2025.
Latvia and Lithuania
airBaltic flies from Riga to Tbilisi four times a week in summer and to Batumi once a week. Wizz Air links Vilnius with Kutaisi four times a week, and the route stays in winter. Estonia has no direct flight.
Denmark and the rest of Scandinavia
Norwegian started Copenhagen to Tbilisi on 27 June 2026, with two flights a week. It is the first non-stop link between the two capitals. We found no seats on sale for November or December, so treat it as a summer route. Sweden, Norway and Finland have no direct flights. Change in Warsaw, Riga, Istanbul or a German hub.
Direct flights from Italy: Milan, Rome and Venice
Italy had 19 flights a week in July 2026, from three cities. Milan and Rome both fly to Tbilisi and to Kutaisi, so compare the two airports before you book. Venice is a newer Wizz Air route to Kutaisi.
| From | Airline | Lands at | Flights a week, July 2026 | Winter 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Milan Bergamo | Georgian Airways | Tbilisi | 3 | Yes |

| Rome Ciampino | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 5 | Yes |
| Venice | Wizz Air | Kutaisi | 3 | Yes |
Venice began on 2 December 2025 as a winter route and stayed through the summer. Georgian Airways also tried Forli in 2025, but that route is not on the July 2026 list. Naples, Bologna and the south have no direct flight.
In winter, the Georgian Airways flight from Bergamo leaves at night and lands at about 5 am. The Wizz Air flights from Rome take just under 4 hours.
France, the Benelux, Spain, Greece and Cyprus
Western Europe has fewer routes than the east of the EU, but most big cities have at least one. Wizz Air covers the low-cost side through Kutaisi. Georgian Airways and Transavia fly into Tbilisi.

Paris is the best served French city, with three airlines. Lyon is a 2025 Wizz Air route that pauses in winter. In Spain only Barcelona and Madrid have flights, both to Kutaisi. Portugal has none.
Greece and Cyprus have more choice than their size suggests. Athens has three airlines and Larnaca has a daily Georgian Airways flight in summer. Both are handy places to pick up a cheap seat to Georgia from elsewhere in Europe.
Turkey and Israel: the most flights per week
Istanbul is the busiest link of all. Turkish Airlines, Pegasus and AJet ran 98 flights a week from its two airports in July 2026, or 14 a day. Turkish Airlines flies from Istanbul Airport, while Pegasus and AJet use Sabiha Gökçen on the Asian side. The flight to Tbilisi takes a little over 2 hours.
| From | Airline | Tbilisi | Batumi | Kutaisi |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Istanbul | Turkish Airlines | 40 | 17 | - |
| Istanbul | Pegasus | 25 | 5 | 4 |
| Istanbul | AJet | 7 | - | - |

| Antalya | Pegasus | 7 | - | - |

| Tel Aviv | Israir | 10 | 16 | - |
| Tel Aviv | Arkia | 7 | 12 | - |
| Tel Aviv | One Click Airways | 2 | 2 | - |
Istanbul flights run all year. That makes Istanbul the best hub if no direct flight leaves from your city. Check Antalya and Bodrum for winter dates, as beach routes often thin out.
Tel Aviv had 76 flights a week in July, more to Batumi than to Tbilisi. El Al, Israir and Arkia all fly to both airports, and all three were still flying in October. Batumi is also an easy place to start a trip by land from Turkey, through the Sarpi crossing about half an hour south.
Gulf and Middle East: Dubai, Doha, Riyadh and more
Gulf airlines ran about 90 flights a week in July 2026. Almost all go to Tbilisi. Doha and Dubai also matter to travellers from much further away, because they link Georgia with India, South-East Asia and Australia on one ticket.

In mid-October 2026 all the big Gulf airlines were still flying to Tbilisi. None was flying to Batumi, so treat the Batumi links as summer routes. Royal Jordanian adds a new weekly flight from Amman to Tbilisi from 22 October 2026, on Thursdays.
Caucasus neighbours, Central Asia, China and India
Azerbaijan and Armenia
Azerbaijan Airlines flies from Baku to Tbilisi six times a day, 42 flights a week, and to Batumi once a day. Since 2020 Azerbaijan has not let most travellers in by land, so the flight is the easy link. Yerevan has six flights a week to Tbilisi and five to Batumi, but most people cross from Armenia by road in 5 to 6 hours.
Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

Kazakhstan is the biggest market here, with 56 flights a week from five cities. FlyArystan, Air Astana's budget airline, keeps its four Kutaisi routes in winter.
China and India
China Southern flies from Urumqi to Tbilisi every day. Air China added Beijing to Tbilisi via Urumqi in December 2025, three times a week by July 2026. China Eastern flies from Shanghai four times a week, a route that is new in 2026.
No route from India is on the July 2026 list. IndiGo opened Delhi to Tbilisi in 2023 and Mumbai in 2025. In October 2026 we found only one-stop trips, via Baku, Sharjah or Dubai, so check IndiGo's own timetable before you rely on a direct flight.
Russia and Belarus
Red Wings, Azimuth and Georgian Airways fly from Moscow, St Petersburg and about 15 other Russian cities, some 180 flights a week in July. Belavia flies from Minsk to all three airports. Cards from Western banks are not accepted in Russia, and many governments warn against going there.
North America, Australia and Africa
No airline links Georgia non-stop with the Americas, Australia or Africa, apart from a weekly flight from Sharm El Sheikh. From the USA or Canada, connect through Istanbul, London, Munich or Doha. Our flights to Tbilisi guide gives door-to-door times.
New flights to Georgia in 2025 and 2026, and plans for 2027
Twelve foreign airlines started flying to Georgia in 2025, by the Civil Aviation Agency's count. They include British Airways, easyJet, Edelweiss, Transavia France and Air Serbia. More new routes followed in 2026.
| Route | Airline | Started | Status for winter 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|---|
| London Heathrow to Tbilisi | British Airways | 2025 | On sale for January 2027 |

Two more names are missing from the July list. Saudia had planned three weekly flights from Riyadh in 2026, and IndiGo opened Mumbai in 2025. Check with the airline before you book any of these routes.
Inside Georgia, the new Tbilisi to Batumi flight takes about 45 minutes. Our getting around Georgia guide compares it with the train.
Summer and winter: which direct routes fly all year
Winter timetables begin on the last Sunday of October, 25 October in 2026. Summer ones come back on 28 March 2027. Demand drops by about half between the two seasons. In 2025, Georgia's airports handled about 945,000 passengers in July and about 465,000 in February.
- All year: Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Baku, the Gulf hubs into Tbilisi, London, Munich, Warsaw, Vienna, Geneva and Paris with Georgian Airways.
- Mostly all year: Kutaisi keeps 21 of its 24 Wizz Air cities. Only Hamburg, Lyon and Wroclaw stop for the winter.
- Summer only or not yet on sale: Zurich, Copenhagen, Cologne and the three Wizz Air routes above, plus most Batumi links with Europe, the Gulf and Central Asia.
Whichever airport you land at, our private tours can begin right there. Pick any date, and bring a group of any size. East to West crosses the country from Tbilisi to the sea at Batumi. It suits a summer flight into the capital and a flight home from the coast. For a short break on a direct flight, the Tbilisi City Break fills three days with a local guide.
Many flights from Europe land between midnight and 6 am. An airport transfer with a driver who tracks your flight is the calm way to reach your bed. We meet flights at Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi.
